Usage

First, log in to the Magento admin interface. Then go to “System” > “Configuration” > “Brim Extension’s” tab > “Grouped Options”, and you will be presented with the interface below.

Enable Template Override

Change to “No” if you have a customized “catalog/product/view/type/grouped.phtml”, then follow the instructions under the next section.

Enable Expanded Layered Navigation

When set to “Yes”, grouped products will inherit attributes enabled for layered navigation from associated products, given attributes are a part of the grouped products attributes set.

Custom Designs

If “catalog/product/view/type/grouped.phtml” has been customized in your theme, then the grouped options block code will need to be added to the customized version.

The code below needs to be added in between the loop processing associated products:

<?php echo $this->getChild('groupedoptions')->setProduct($_item)->toHtml(); ?>

See lines 83-90 of app/design/frontend/base/default/template/grouped-options/grouped.phtml for a reference implementation.

Is Grouped Options compatible with import/export extensions?

Grouped Options uses the standard Magneto product tables for storing its grouped product associations. So, any extension that supports grouped product associations should work without an issue. Magento’s Dataflow and the newer Import/Export extensions are both known to work.

I’m getting this error after installing! “Fatal error: Brim_ModuleName_Helper_Data’ not found in /home/xxxxxxx/public_html/app/Mage.php on line 547″

This error is often the result of the cache not properly being flushed or the Magento compiler running while files are still uploading. The order of the installation should look like this: Disable Compiler -> Upload Files -> Flush Cache -> Recompile.

It is important to note that all files must finish uploading before you run the Magento compiler.

I’m using the Simple Configurable Products extension and its only adding one product to the cart at a time. What do I do?

Some customers have found the following solution useful:

Comment out lines 104-106 of skin/frontend/base/default/js/scp_product_extension.js.

However this may affect how SCP operates.

So, this code:

Product.Config.prototype.updateFormProductId = function(productId){
    if (!productId) { return false; }
    var currentAction = $('product_addtocart_form').action;
    newcurrentAction = currentAction.sub(/product\/\d+\//, 'product/' + productId + '/');
    $('product_addtocart_form').action = newcurrentAction;
    $('product_addtocart_form').product.value = productId;
};

Looks like this:

Product.Config.prototype.updateFormProductId = function(productId){
    if (!productId) { return false; }
    var currentAction = $('product_addtocart_form').action;
    //newcurrentAction = currentAction.sub(/product\/\d+\//, 'product/' + productId + '/');
    //$('product_addtocart_form').action = newcurrentAction;
    //$('product_addtocart_form').product.value = productId;
 };
